NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)-2017 Exam on Sunday, May 7, at 1,921 examination centres in 103 cities across India.
The examination is being held in the offline mode and is being organized in 10 languages. NEET this year is open to NRIs, OCIs, PIOs and foreign students as well.
A total of 11,38,890 students are scheduled to appear in the examination. Among the examinees are 1,522 NRIs, 480 OCIs, 70 PIOs and 613 foreign students.
AS many as 490 CBSE officials have been deployed to supervise the test centres in 103 cities across the country. In addition to city coordinators of CBSE schools, 3,500 additional observers have also been appointed to monitor the test centres.
Earlier CBSE used to conduct the NEET only for 15% of the quota seats; the rest were conducted by the various States.
This year, arrangements have been made for an integrated NEET examination
. Of a total of 95,000 UG seats, 65,000 seats are set aside for MBBS and 25,000 seatsare for BDS in all government, private and deemed medical colleges and universities across the country.
